Film Categories
Travel Documentary
Feature or short documentaries exploring cultures, destinations, and the human experience through travel. Any runtime.
Travel Short Film
Narrative or experimental short films set against the backdrop of travel and discovery. Under 40 minutes.
Travel Creator Showcase
Content originally created for digital platforms — YouTube, Instagram, or similar — that captures the spirit of travel storytelling. Under 20 minutes.
Student Film
Films produced by currently enrolled students at any accredited institution. All formats and runtimes welcome.
Animated Travel
Animated works — 2D, 3D, or mixed media — that explore travel, geography, or cultural themes.
Submission Guidelines

Films must have been completed after January 1, 2024.

All genres and formats are welcome, including documentary, narrative, experimental, and animation.

Films may be submitted in any language; English subtitles are required for non-English dialogue.
- 4
Filmmakers retain all rights to their work. Passport Cinema requests a non-exclusive license to screen selected films during the festival.

Submissions must be made via the official entry form. Email submissions will not be accepted.

Entry fees are non-refundable. Fee waivers are available for filmmakers facing financial hardship — contact us before submitting.

All filmmakers will be notified of selection decisions by February 1, 2027.
